Jazz Night School classes offer core jazz studies in a casual classroom-style environment.

Goal of Classes
Equip people with skills and knowledge that help them learn from recordings and learn by doing.

• Some classes are offered in Level One and Level Two formats (see more below).
• Work at your level as needed—Classes are designed so people can learn at their own pace using individualized homework programs while meeting weekly in a group participation setting for new material, focused assistance and progress checks.
• Classes meet one hour a week for eight weeks.

Level One classes build skill and knowledge foundations. People with a head start may be comfortable moving to the next level after one eight week session, others will find it helpful to study longer at Level One.

Level Two classes cover broader ranges of intermediate to advanced studies and are designed so people can benefit from taking them multiple times—introducing concepts for some people, advancing knowledge for others. Level One competency in a study is usually recommended before taking a Level Two class.
