Student Requirements
This class is for students learning jazz improvisation who have Ear Training for Jazz - Level One skills (ability to recognize intervals, notes relative to a key, triads, 6th and 7th chords, and scales) and who know intervals, chord construction, rhythmic unit names and beginning notation skills.
Students supply 12-stave manuscript notebook, pencil, and occasionally their instrument.
Homework
Homework is comprised of ear training exercises (materials and drills are available online) and group or individually assigned transcription work. The more time students invest, the greater their gains.
Cost: $200 for ten-week session - classes meet one hour weekly.
