Instrumental Labs
Each Instrumental Lab offers opportunities to work on essential jazz performance skills in a group setting with a great teacher—and they're fun! Labs are appropriate for all levels.
Come for one session or make use of an ongoing learning opportunity among friends.
- Jazz Drum Lab
Work on essential jazz drumming patterns and techniques through demonstration and coached hands-on work. Ten weeks of various must-have skills with focus on patterns, comping, and soloing—sticks, brushes, swing, ballads, latin...
- Jazz Bass Lab
Work on essential jazz bass skills through demonstration and coached hands-on work. Ten weeks of tutelage on time keeping, note selection, styles, and more.
- Jazz Guitar Lab
Work on essential jazz guitar techniques through live demonstration and coached hands-on work. Ten weeks of focus on voicings, scales, comping, time, and improv.
- Jazz Piano Lab
Work on core jazz piano skills through live demonstration and coached hands-on work. Ten weeks of focus on comping, voicings, time, feel, and improv.
Student Requirements
Students may be responsible for bringing instruments and amps.
Cost: $200 for ten-week session - classes meet one hour weekly.
